The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland has approved another financial tranche for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation. Ireland is one of nearly 40 countries that support the Perpetual Capital Fund created and managed by the Foundation.

- „I am pleased to let you know that the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has approved a grant of €10,000 to the Perpetual Capital Fund of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation” - said Emer O'Connell, Ireland's Ambassador to Poland.

The Director General of the Foundation, Wojciech Soczewica, said: - W„We are very pleased that Ireland maintains constant, systematic support for FAB activities. This is a sign that the care for the memory of the victims remains alive. It also means that, despite the challenges arising from the pandemic, Ireland consistently treats the preservation of the remains of KL Auschwitz as a priority”.

Since 2012, the profits from the Perpetual Capital Fund have been financing the conservation work at the Auschwitz Memorial.
