Online tour

Auschwitz_Visuals_12_Fuehrung
The live and online tour "Auschwitz. In Front of your Eyes" offers a reflective approach to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. It enables visitors to engage in an in-depth examination of one of the central sites of the Holocaust, even from a distance.
The tour provides access to some selected areas that are closed to regular visitors on site. These include the interior of Block 10, the area where some pseudo-medical experiments were carried out, as well as digitally reconstructed representations of the gas chamber and crematorium III.

The interactive tour is led by qualified museum guides. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion to deepen their historical understanding.

Please support us in making this educational programme available to future generations and in teaching the history of Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

The digital format is not intended to replace a personal visit to the Memorial site, but rather to complement it. The use of modern technology opens up new forms of historical communication and offers additional insights into the structures and functions of the camp.

The story behind the programme
Technology in the Service of Humanity
For three years, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, AppsFlyer and Diskin worked together to provide technology to educate people around the world about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. The online tour is a powerful reminder against forgetting, while also using technology as a means to preserve history, learn and progress towards a better future.

The further development of this programme was made possible by the significant support of Google. Google’s financial contribution helped deliver professional training options for Memorial tour guides as well as develop new language versions supporting the expansion of the programme reach.
